About the Restaurant
Malini South Indian Restaurant
At Malini South India Restaurant, we are proud to introduce you to the authentic flavors and diverse styles of the beautiful regions of India. Our head chef, Nagarajan Kumaravel, carefully selects the freshest ingredients and, with a skill that can be described as almost alchemical, creates a refined fusion of South Indian cuisine rich in tradition and culture.
The restaurant’s owner and chef, Sethuraman Divya, an expert in the food industry with decades of experience, has brought his lifelong passion for South Indian cuisine to Japan. We opened this restaurant with the desire to deliver high-quality dishes to everyone. Our goal is to take you on a journey of culinary excellence and help you discover why Indians treat every meal as a true celebration of life.
Everyone finds value in this restaurant, and I am grateful each day for those who continue to return and even recommend us to their friends. “Malini,” the name of our restaurant, is in fact the name of our beloved mother. Though she lives far away in India, for us, every customer who returns to our restaurant is like family. We deeply cherish these bonds and hope to continue building this relationship for many years to come.

Hello everyone in Japan!
We decided to open Malini because we want you to enjoy the taste of South Indian home cooking, curries and more.
When people think of Indian food, the first images are often butter chicken, naan, or just “spicy.”
But our goal is to share Indian cuisine in a way that everyone, from small children to the elderly, can enjoy.
If there are any spices or flavors you don’t prefer, please feel free to let us know. We’ll happily adjust the taste to make it closer to what you like.
We look forward to welcoming you again at Malini!
